Operation Uplift: Compassion and Light for 120 Families in Mananga
Ywam Cebu recently deployed to the heart of the crisis, the resilient community of Mananga, where we were privileged to extend critical assistance to 120 families profoundly affected by the recent typhoon (Philippine name – Tino).
YWAM Cebu had been going to Mananga for 20 years. The kids ministry location ( one of the 12) that we had built deep relationship with the families through the Daily Vacation Bible School. We had the privilege of seeing the kids grow, graduate from college and have their own families. Over the years we have witnessed how the Lord has transformed this community. We have a lot good memories in this place.
Last Nov 4, typhoon Tino swept away their homes and all their possessions. They were left badly devastated. Pray that they’ll be able to rebuild their homes soon.
Crucially, every affected family received a comprehensive aid package of immediate necessities—drinking water, rice, eggs, pails, and towels. Yet, the greater provision was the message of encouragement; a powerful reminder that they are not navigating this path toward recovery in isolation.
Amplified by Partnership
This focused effort was amplified by the invaluable partnership of our family from YWAM Philippines. We are profoundly grateful for their dedication and servant hearts, which moved quickly and compassionately to help us reach those most in need. Their commitment continues to inspire us to be the hands and feet of service during challenging times.
Seeing the Light of Restoration
As we assess the continued need for restoration, we recognize that our work is far from finished. However, amidst the darkness of destruction, we witness the light of hope shining brilliantly through the faces of the people we serve. This hope remains our anchor.
In moments like these, God’s light shines brightest. Together, we hold on to faith, serve with love, and stand firm in the belief that restoration is coming—one family, one community at a time.
